The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury is one of this country’s most successful large-scale independent theatres, with a 1,200-seat Main House, a 150-seat Studio and The Marlowe Kit, home to our thriving Youth Company. We present a year-round programme of touring theatre, musicals, dance, opera, music and comedy. We also produce theatre for and with the communities of Kent and support regional artists and theatre-makers. We have ambitious plans, and we are looking for people to help make them happen. We currently have a vacancy for a Productions Assistant (Maternity Cover).
The Productions Assistant (Maternity Cover) role is pivotal to the day-to-day operation of our productions work, connecting our resident companies, local artists, youth theatre and regular events programme with the producing and technical teams.
We are looking for a highly organised, attentive and outgoing person to join the Technical and Production team. Reporting to the Director of Technical and Building Services, for a minimum fixed term of 6 months, up to a maximum of 1 year. The postholder will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of our productions, welcoming companies and artists, maintaining our costume and props stores, as well as providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.
Like all theatres, The Marlowe has been heavily impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic and as we look forward to working on new productions, welcoming back artists and companies -personalised, friendly and outstanding customer service will be one of the top priorities.You must be able to work efficiently under pressure whilst ensuring that high standards and outstanding customer care are delivered at all times. This will be both a challenging and rewarding time to join our team.
