Canterbury City Council, a district council situated in the heart of the Garden of England, has recently brought its Housing services back in house.
We are now looking to recruit a Compliance & Building Safety Manager to join our Housing Asset Management section within the Contracts & FM service, this is an exciting position for an enthusiastic professional to join the team who will have the interests of our tenants at heart and help manage works delivery to our circa 5000 property portfolio.
About the Role:
The key responsibilities of the Compliance and Building Safety Manager role include developing and maintaining our tenant and occupier focused service delivery of Asset Management functions, ensuring both the highest quality and compliance with legislation, policy and best practice.
Ensuring statutory compliance is managed and monitored effectively, taking a solution focused approach, removing risk where possible and identifying and implementing mitigation where complete removal is not possible.
Promoting compliance and building safety requirements and identifying training needs throughout the service areas. Working closely with other teams to ensure all required information is captured.
About You:
The successful candidate for the Compliance and Building Safety Manager role will have extensive experience of successfully managing a compliance and/or building safety team, being responsible for managing risk.
Housing sector knowledge in relation to building and construction matters including compliance and relevant legislation.
The ability to understand and analyse various reports to provide accurate and relevant advice to a range of people, including the Asset Manager, external legislative bodies and relevant boards and committees.
What we are looking for is a qualified and experienced professional, well versed in current best practice, who can find innovative answers to a range of issues and have a strong track record of delivery.
