Dover Museum is looking for a part-time caretaker to work 17.5 hours a week, including handover to our other part time caretaker mid-week. The successful applicant will provide caretaking services for Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery in the Market Square, Dover and be required on occasions to work at off-site locations in the Dover District Area including Dover Gateway offices in Castle Street Dover. The role offers a varied working environment and is physically challenging.
You will have substantial experience in a caretaking or estates role with knowledge and skills in electrical work, plumbing and/ or woodworking. The ability to deal with people and supervise external contractors is essential as is the ability to work with minimal supervision. A willingness to undertake emergency call-outs in conjunction with our security company is necessary. The role is physically demanding, involving working at heights and in confined spaces and undertaking heavy lifting. A good understanding of health and safety is therefore essential.
